Please note that this page is only available to clients who deliver courses to learners via email, SMS, or MS Teams.

The groups tab on the Learners page allows you to create, view, and manage your groups of learners. Groups are used to enrol learners on a course on the Classroom page.

Viewing the list of learner groups

The Groups tab displays a list of all learner groups, along with the following information:

  • Group name

  • Group creator

  • Group creation date

  • Number of learners in group

Filtering groups

You can filter groups by the following criteria:

  • Group name

  • Creator

To filter groups, simply enter the desired filter criteria in the corresponding input field or select from the criteria options.

Managing groups

You can perform the following actions of groups:

  1. View all learners in that group: By clicking on the eye icon on the group's row, you'll be redirected to the Database tab, and a filtered list showing only learners in that group is displayed.

  2. Delete the group: By clicking on the bin icon, you can delete the group. The learners in that group won't be deleted - just the group entity.

  3. View and manage enrolment status: when at least one learner in a group is enrolled, you're able to Un-enrol all learners in that group by clicking on the Un-enrol button.

Interactive walkthrough – creating a new group

Scroll down for the written and static image version of the help guide.

To create a new learner group, click on the Actions button and then Create new group. You'll then be presented with this popup:

To select which learners to add to your new group, you can do one or more of:

  1. Use description: any learners whose description have an EXACT match with what you put will be added to your new group.

  2. Use tags: any learners who have the one tag you select will be added to your new group.

  3. Use date: any learners who were added to your GoodCourse account before or after the selected date

You can always add more learners - by description, tag, selected date or individually - to your new group afterwards.

Calculating learners

After filling out an input to identify some learners, for example, learners with tag Feb '24. A calculate button becomes visible to check the number of learners with that selected input(s) (tag, description and / or selected date).

Combining multiple inputs

Multiple combinations can be made across all the available inputs:

  1. Tag

  2. Description

  3. Learners created before OR after a selected date

Once multiple inputs have been selected, a dropdown becomes visible to select what type of selection criteria is to be used when adding these learners to the group. The options are:

  1. ALL Criteria: this would add learners that match ALL your selected inputs.

  2. At least ONE of the criteria: this would add learners who match at least ONE of your selected inputs.

After filling in all the details like identifying learners either with tags, descriptions, or selected date, the name of the new group, click on the Create group button.

Updating an existing group

To update an existing group, click on the Actions button and then Update existing group. A popup will then be displayed:

In this popup:

  1. Select the group to be updated (this automatically shows you the number of learners currently in the group).

  2. You can bulk add learners to an existing group, following the same process – and range of input options – as detailed above for a new group.

Once ready, click on the Update group button. Remember you can calculate how many learners will be added to your existing group first.

Important: if you choose more than one criteria, you'll need to choose whether you want to group learners who meet ANY of your selected criteria (at least one) or ALL of your selected criteria. See more on this .
