GoodCourse helps you quickly launch hyper-engaging short courses, but a simple plan & quick creation is key to achieving great results. Let’s dive in!
Before you start, jot down these essentials:
Key Learning Outcomes: What are 3-5 things you want your learners to take away? Focus on brevity – it's better for your students to master a few concepts than to overwhelm with too many.
Reference Materials: List any information sources you’ll use to build this course, such as presentations, noting which sections link to which learning outcomes.
Keep it short – anything not listed as a key learning outcome isn’t a priority.
Just start! Lay out the first few cards with basic content to get the ball rolling. Don’t overthink it. Some more tips:
Use Different Card Types:
Brevity is Key: Keep text concise and focused. Limit videos to 2-3 per course and aim for 12-16 cards in total.
Keep It Engaging: Use conversational language, GIFs, and images (GoodCourse’s libraries are perfect for this). Focus on why the content matters and what learners can do with it, rather than detailed stats or research.
Once you’ve built your course, ensure to review it:
Test as a Learner: Use the ‘Preview Course’ button to see your course exactly as your learners will. View it on both a desktop and mobile device, ensuring it looks great on both.
Check for Flow & Engagement: Does the content progress logically? Are your cards engaging and varied?
Polish the Details: Look for typos, awkward phrasing, or inconsistencies. Ensure your content aligns with your goals.
